Ranking of hands:
The lowest possible hand of five poker cards is the best hand in this game. Aces will be the high cards and the deuces will be the low cards. The flushes and straights will be counted against the player as he/she is playing for the lowest possible poker hand. It means, the poker hand including 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be regarded as a very bad hand and would not be considered a six-low. This will be called a straight and definitely is a worse hand than holding A, K, Q, J, and 9.
2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 can be the best possible poker hand made by the player with no flush. This hand would be referred as a wheel. 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 will be the best hand subsequently and this again without any flush. Similarly, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 will be the third best hand and so on.
Since, the aces are played for high then the hand including 2, 3, 4, 5, and A will not be referred as a straight. It is the best possible hand of ace-low and the player can also make known as the ‘nut ace’. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8 will be referred as a ‘nut eight’, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9 will be ‘nut nine’ and so on. A, K, Q, J, and 9 is the worst possible poker hand of unpaired cards that a player can make, since making a low hand is his/her main goal. Pairs are better than the trips. But the pairs and trips are much better than the straights. Similarly, the flushes are better than the full houses. So, the Royal Flush in this game will be referred to the worse hand hold by a player. Therefore, the hand rankings in this game are the inverse of the rankings of the hands in regular card games.
