Case Card

Simply put, a case card is a poker term used to define a player’s last piece of card that can be used in the game. The card is usually the only available one left in a rank of other cards that have already been used. If there is only a single King left behind in a deck, a player can say “I can only win this game by getting hold of the case King.” This is obviously referring to the only King left in the deck.

Another way to give a meaning to case card in poker is to say that it is the only possible card which is able to change the outcome of a player’s hand. Otherwise it is still described as the last card which remains in a particular rank. An example is if there is only one single ace remaining in the deck. This is then referred to as a “case ace.”
