Maniac

Maniacs abound in different types of games and the same thing applies to poker. A maniac is a term reserved for a poker player who does not often play in line with the rules of the game. This is a player with a lot of aggression and plays in a similar fashion with a loose person. In fact, the two types of players are called almost the same terms because of how close to each other they are in their style of play. They are mostly habitual gamblers that care less about winning a game to build a name and career than they do about losing.

A maniac is a player who likes to call the bluff of the other players, make a lot or raises and does them arbitrarily, bets constantly and without making any second thoughts with recourse to strategic planning before executing, and so on. A real maniac is never a good player and loses far more than the number of times s/he wins games. Even with a low quality hand, a maniac can still raise and re-raise all through a game and acts all the time to the chagrin of other players.
