A card that is dealt out by the dealer before the deal which, if served to a player, can be turned into a card of any given suit that a player wants. For instance if a dealer calls saying cards of Two are wild in a game, it means any of the players that has a Two card can turn it into a card of any suit s/he chooses. It is even possible to use a wild card to complete a hand with a Straight or Flush as long as it was duly declared so by the presiding dealer of the game.
A wild card is one that can be served out as any of the other cards and then converted to make up a hand. In another example, if Tens are said to be wild cards in a poker game, and a player has 4 Aces with 1 Ten, the player could turn that hand to become 5 Aces after the single Ten wild card has been turned into an Ace card. Wild cards are more common in games that are played at home or outside gaming houses; where the rules are more relaxed.
