Step tournaments are being introduced by Ultimate Bet for their players. The Step tournaments serve as a challenging, yet low cost measure to World Series of Poker 2009.
The STEP 1 tourneys come with a pretty affordable buy in of just 10 cents!
If the player wins a total of 10 steps, then the player will be sent to Las Vegas for the WSOP 2009 event. The package consists of the $10,000 Main Event buy-in apart from an additional $2,000 which can be used for travel and other expenses.
The Main Event begins on July 3, 2009 featuring 4 starting days and it will played through the final table on July 14, 2009. After which, the “November Nine” will come back to the Rio between dates November 7, 2009 and November 10, 2009 for the conclusion of the tourney, the final dates have not been declared as of yet.
In the past year, Peter Eastgate broke Ultimate Bet’s Phil Hellmuth’s longstanding record of being the youngest WSOP Main Event winner at the age of 22; Hellmuth was 24, when he made it and Eastgate took home $9 million.
The first 10 players who will be winning their way through all the 10 STEP tournaments meant for the WSOP prize package will also be getting a trip to the Ultimate Bet Aruba Poker Classic of 2009.
The Main Event prize package of $8,500 consists of $5,500 Main Event entry in addition to $3,000 which can be used for travel and other expenses. The Aruba Poker Classic was previously a stop on the World Poker Tour and it will be organized from October 3, 2009 through October 10, 2009 which is slightly a bit late than last year in a way to avoid the conflict of schedule with the World Series of Poker Europe.
