2009 National Heads-Up Poker Championship

The most prestigious NBC poker tournament begins next month. Former champions and a number of other poker pros are already in the line to sign up to play in the NBC poker tournaments.
Jon Miller, the executive vice president of NBC sports stated “We have a combination of celebrity players as participants including top poker pros, veterans and novice players, for the 2009 National Heads-Up Poker Championship.”
It is expected that GoDaddy is likely to sponsor the NBC’s felts with their brand name in it.
NBC’s National Heads-Up Poker Championship organizer team declared that they have come up with worked out criteria for automatic bids for entry in to the event.
The selection process is made in a way that the first 4 championships for all the competitors will be based on an invitation, which will be made after careful choice of the participants.
The auto bids process does not require the participant to be a poker pro to qualify, if the player making the auto-bid fulfils the objectivity in the selection proceeds, the player who truly is worthy of getting an entry make it to getting selected for participation.
In cases, where no players qualify in the process, players from the list of eligible players to get an automatic invitation will be invited. From the list detailing the requisites for such players 27 of them will be chosen for 2009. The list includes online and NBC qualifiers, host venue qualifiers, WPT player of the year, WSOP players of the year, Card Player Magazine player of the year, the past 5 National Heads Up Poker Champions, 2 National Heads up runners up, defending National Heads Up semifinalists and many others as delineated by the organizer team.
