The official sponsor for the World Series of Poker beer is MillerCoors. Notably, Milwaukee’s Best Light was the sponsor over the past 3 years and now the deal has been affirmed for a couple of more years. The World Series of Poker 2009 and 2010 can be expected to be filled with hoard a lot of promotions of the Milwaukee’s Best Light beer and they have retained the right to be able to make use of the WSOP trademark in their beers. Also, MillerCoors still have the rights to use the WSOP trademark in all of their sponsorship plans. The Milwaukee’s are going to be experiencing complete medial attention over the 7 weeks of poker. The beer brand which is targeted towards young men will be advertised as the “beer that’s brewed for a man’s taste.”
Chad Dern, the Milwaukee’s marketing director states, “Poker continues to enjoy growth both as a leisure activity and as a televised sporting event… When we look at opportunities for developing alliances that make the most sense for this brand and help us connect with the right audience, the World Series of Poker is simply the best.”
In the past year, the World Series of Poker attracted a huge traffic and the field was massive. Regardless of the many restrictions which were imposed by the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) there were still a huge crowd; however,
the decline in the expected poker registrations due to the UIGEA cannot be denied.
The 2009 WSOP will be organized at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino and they are going to sponsor 57 bracelet events and along with a reprise of a delayed Main Event final table.
