The 888, founder of Pacific Poker made a history creating a new record of 21% growth in its income setting aside all the economic downturn. It had reported earlier an income of $216.9 million in 2007 and now the income has increased to $262.5 million in 2008 and a surge in the revenue by 14%; yet the revenue from pacific poker has shrinked down by 4% compared to last year’s ratings.
The year 2008 has poured in luck to the 888 as it has come up with 14 customers in the same year. The two new Bingo customers and the partnership with the Racing Post were significant and had launched 888sport.com and 888ladies.com.
According to the 888′s Chief Executive Officer, Gigi Levy have reported that the company’s B2B and B2C businesses have strengthened their growth in the market and despite the financial crisis, the gaming world wouldn’t lose its golden age .Yet they have cautioned that they are likely to experience a slight downfall in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The company offering games with 11 languages such as Japanese, Russian, Romanian, Latvian, Estonian Czech, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Polish, Lithuanian, Greek had promised the players an improved outlook of the online poker rooms catering to the various needs of the players, abiding by the rules of UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) and they have been avoiding American players into their site in a way to not risk their relationship with the European Commission and World Trade Organization.
The worst economic downturn has considerably cut down the number of players of Pacific Poker 170,988 during the first quarter of 2008 to just 158,557. As a measure to finds its unique place in the market it has made agreements with Poker Dome, Little woods, and Lucky Ace with which the 888 stands in the thirteenth place among the busiest sites.
