Similar to his performance in the prior European Poker Tour Stop at Copenhagen, Denmark in February, Norwegian William Thorson has managed to occupy a superior place in the leader board after his gaming in the first of the two day event of the EPT Dortmund Main Event at the Poker Stars.
About 306 people enrolled to play in the event, and of those nearly 115 players who started their play in Tuesday and made all their way to the Thursday’s game of Day 2. They made it post eight hard battled levels of the game.
Thorson completed the day by owning his beginning stack of 10,000 chips multiplied to an interesting 84,500, this drastic multiplication of the chips had him ahead of Germany’s own Robert Zipf who is an online qualifier who thereby concluded their day in second with nearly 72,300 chips.
Johannes Strassmann made it to the final-table in this event the past year and he completed in the seventh place then, he met with ups and downs; however, he managed to survive and so did Alexander Kravchenko, Rolf Slotboom, and Soren Kongsgaard.
There were several others like Remy Biechel, Rasmus Nielsen, Barny Boatman, Ivan Demidov and Roberto Romanello, who were not able to make it through.
Several other pros were also expected to be there on the for the second and last Day One session organized on Wednesday, which consisted of Dario Minieri, Bertrand Grospellier, Marcel Luske, and Peter Eastgate, the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event champion.
It is foreseen that the complete field should be more than 411 players who participated in this event last year when 18-year-old Canadian Mike McDonald made it to the title.
