After several months of waiting, it seemed like the New Year has at last brought with it information about legalized online gambling from the Czech Republic.
Per media reports after several years of discussions and oaths to obstruct minor gamblers from betting in their websites, the country’s five biggest poker and casino companies will pretty soon get licenses and permits from the Finance Ministry to approve online gambling.
One of those companies which are getting legalized though that this legalization was important “We are sad and bitter that foreign Internet betting companies are allowed to operate in the Czech Republic without any control. There is no legal restriction. So basically they operate in this country illegally. So we want to have the same opportunities as foreign companies.”
The executive also stated that local betting companies used to be losing a lot more than many hundred millions per year to foreign companies providing Internet gambling from outside the boundaries of the Czech Republic; however, despite so much of earnings, they are not going to make contribution to taxes nor will they be providing employment on the poker and gambling companies within the Republic.
The betting company also happily stated that since January 5 2009, the issuance of licenses have been initiated. And a number of companies are rushing up in line to get their license and they have been organizing their operations since January 5, 2009.
He also remarked that the regulatory rule will be very difficult and pretty closely monitored where he claimed that he was in disparity about the offerings of foreign online companies.
When interrogated about the competitive potential for online gambling versus the traditional Czech establishments, the official stated that it was improbable that the new online betting will in a deeper way bring in a decline in land casino venues.
