Mixed Poker Games Is The Trend Of The Season

During the past years, many of the tourney directors have been working out methods to create variations rather than organizing just no-limit hold’em tourneys all the time. Mixed game tourneys are one of the many areas which are being used to create variations.

The dominance of the H.O.R.S.E. tourneys for $50,000 in the World Series of Poker aided in putting up with mixed games in the past years, apart from that the “Eight-Game Mix” which is commonly known as the “Super Mix” brought back the trend since tourney directors preferred to bring in additional mixed game tourneys to their schedules.

Of all the mixed games, the one that enjoyed the most popularity is the mixed holdem. In a normal mixed hold’em tourney, the game changes for each level amid no-limit and fixed-limit hold’em.

In the Aussie Millions 2009 Poker Championships which has been going on over the past weeks rendered the tail end of Event #13 with an AUD$1,100 Mixed Hold’em.

The thing that is striking about the game is that a number of players were not able to realize the massive numbers being played in the limit hold’em when compared to the no-limit hold’em rounds and they were also struggling to modify their playing strategies per the requirement out there in the table.

The final hand of the tourney is another excellent example. With nearly 436,000 poker chips in game, the poker game raised up from no-limit hold’em with blinds of 3,000 and 6,000 to limit hold’em with blinds of 8,000 and 16,000. Gone are the days when players were interested in a poker variant, mixed games is the trend of the season.
