Poker Star Phil Helmuth Acting Out Again

The announcement of the Harrahs to start up with a new poker site has left Poker Star Phil Helmuth acting out again. At an interview in the “Hardcore Poker Show” Helmuth displayed his aggression towards the Harrah’s, who were the owners of the “World Series of Poker.” He stated that several of the leading online poker sites are likely to make a team to work against big guys entering in to business. He added up stating “There’s a huge battle brewing.”

The Harrahs have contracted 888 Holdings to work on forming the online poker platform and launching it early in 2010. The decision of the Harrahs is soon to materialize in 2010 which is just 3 months from now. It is expected that when the big guy in land based gambling is going to start up online, they are likely to put an end to competition monopolizing the poker industry. The specifics about the kind of site that they going to start up are not evident yet until date.

Mitch Garber, Ex-CEO for Poker Party has been hired by the Harrah’s to look in to the functioning of the new online division of Harrah’s.

All the poker rooms that are operating around have been functioning with a lot of traffic from the feeder satellites that they have been providing to WSOP tourneys. One site has been competing with another to drive more traffic to the WSOP main event. With the Harrah’s being up directly it is feared that many sites will lose the WSOP seeking traffic, which is indeed a major source of revenue for the Harrah’s.

If Harrah’s are going to check out on the privileges of Full Tilt, Poker Stars, and Ultimate Bet then it is likely that it can be trouble for non-WSOP poker sites. There are a number of professional poker players in most of these poker sites and it can mean a lot of headache for several players around here if there are bizarre dominative changes brought over by the Harrah’s.

When all this is happening, there are more than normal possibilities for small sites to come together and work out a much bigger tourney than WSOP! A break through series indeed.
