Are you killing in poker?

I can read minds. Once I learned to read mine, yours was a snap. Don’t worry; I’ll teach you how to read minds too. It’s just part of what I know about Poker, and I plan to teach you everything I know about Poker. Eventually you’ll have all my secrets: how to read minds, instill dread, play like an (apparent) maniac, and win. Are you impatient? Do you want it all at once, all the wisdom, all the glory, all the art and science of Poker? Okay, here it is:

Go big or go home.

There-there it is-everything you need to know to turn yourself into a winner. Go big or go home.
Do you want more? Okay, here it crones. Imagine that you’re playing poker, but imagine that you’re also playing a secret game called “Raise!” where the object of the game is to raise as much as possible the more raises you make the higher your score.

To your enemies, your actions would look reckless, a mistake, but according to your hidden miles, you’re playing exactly correctly a winning strategy in a completely different game.

That’s the secret and that’s the wisdom. To play Killer Poker, you play exactly correctly according to your own hidden miles.

Think it through. Think of all the drones around you playing poker by the book. They raise with big cards and fold with small ones. They don’t get out of line. They don’t want to get out of line and they don’t want you ta either.

They want a nice, safe, congenial, cooperative game of poker. Their tightness and their discipline seem like assets, but you know what? That tightness is a straitjacket and that discipline can be too.
Think about who really wins in these games. I’m not talking about small wins, a smattering of dollars to the Good. i’m talking about big wins: “get a hernia carrying your racks to the cage” wins.

Who gets those? The bold and the dominant, that’s who, the bullies. It’s people who play by their own rules. It’s players who have a feral determination to slaughter everyone in sight. That can be you. It can-once you have that same boldness and dominance, that imagination, and that determination to win.

You’ve been weak up till now. That can end. You’ve been timid up till now. That can end. You’ve been conser-vative, fearful, restless, inattentive, tyrannized, exploited, shot, stabbed, and killed up till now-but that can end! All you have to do is open your mind and let change wash over you.

As you know, there are four basic states of play in poker:

Weak, Strong, Tight, and loose (plus combinations in between: Weak-Tight, Weak-Loose, Strong-Tight, and Strong Loose). For your convenience, I present these states in compass form.

Before we go further, ask yourself this hard question:

Where on the compass are you? Not “where would you like to be?” Or “where do you hope to be?” But where, in actual factual fact, are you now? Be honest. We won’t get anywhere if you’re not honest.
”My basic state of poker is: ….”
That’s good. You’ve told the truth to yourself about yourself. That’s an excellent start for what we’re trying to accomplish here.

Now here’s the thing, a thing you probably already know: You can’t win weak-tight and you can’t win weak loose. You just can’t. Weak in any form won’t get it done. So that means, flat out, that you must stop being weak right now. You must never play weak poker again.

You must play strong; all the time, everytime. Strong Loose (or at least the appearance of 100 se) or strong-tight, it doesn’t matter-so
