Why are Ace-hi flushes ranked highest

The Ace-hi flushes are ranked the highest. The ranking system between the flush, straight, 3 of a kind or any other winning hand is based on how common and how rare they are. The rarest type of hand is ranked the first and the commonest combination is ranked the last.

When we are going to consider each kind of winning combination there is going to be competition between A-2-3-4-5 ( Ace-hi flushes ) and A-2-3-4-5-( Ace-high straight ). So with such a combination in the table, we need a tie breaking system to decide on the winner; in the mentioned case here in Ace–hi flushes beats the Ace high straight!

A random system of ranking is used to decide ranking for the cards that are of the same kind or family (flushes is one family, straight is one family etcetera) For example, our random system considers A-A-A-A higher than 2-2-2-2, despite of the probability frequency for both the hands in a 52 deck card going to be the same. Likewise, flushes are ranked based on the high rank card Ace-hi flushes coming first and a less high rank coming next etcetera until the fifth card in the qualifying hand being considered for breaking the tie in the high flushes.

This kind of random ranking system has a questioning end product of being able to create more Ace-hi flushes when compared to other hands. This is because Ace-high flushes regardless of the ranking of all other cards are considered to be the highest. The mere presence of the Ace in the flush beats all other hands!

Per random ranking system of the 1277 flushes that are possible in a 52 deck card 490 combinations are said to contain seven in them. However of the 490 combinations of high rank card containing 7 only 4 are going to be high flushes 7-6-5-4-2, 7-6-5-3-2, 7-6-4-3-2, and 7-5-4-3-2; so, the median flush per random analysis is said to be K-J-T-4-2.

Per the above analysis, it is notable that a 7-hi flushes are complicating to form than Ace-hi flushes; and it is a matter of question of why Ace-hi flushes are ranked high than 7-hi flushes.

Well, since long times theories have been established and followed to be right until another theory is formed which beats the existing theory with a more strong reasoning. The Ace-hi flushes ranking is yet to be substantiated and reasoned out with enough and strong grounds of supporting theories. There are 2 possibilities:-

  • Someone rewriting the concept that 7-hi flushes should be ranked to be highest when compared to Ace-hi flushes based on the complexity with solid proof.

(or)

  • They can come out with some solid mathematical theory to support Ace-high flushes to continue to be the highest with some 1+x+n+…..kind of things.

Let us wait for another Einstein to write new acceptable Math law and give the result for this contradiction to the poker world regarding Ace-hi flushes and until then let us follow the existing holy rule that Ace-hi flushes are the highest.
