Poker tournaments are widely becoming famous for the kind of strikingly rich money that they can give for someone that makes a winning. Despite several restrictions on poker playing from time to time, views are changing favorably for poker, with poker gaining wide recognition as a mind game. Poker tournament is gaining popularity as a global sport, and more and more players are showing interest in making up their march to play poker games. In an increasingly competitive poker tournament globe, it becomes necessary to master a separate set of tournament strategy to make an intelligent play.
As we all know the strategy for the tournament is lot different than for ring games. Similarly, the strategy for a sit n go tourney is going to be very different from a multi table strategy. Therefore making a bit of attempt to classify strategies for different types of tournament can bring in a lot of difference.
The flexibility of being able to switch in between strategic play is quite a plus. Most of the time a player might be executing strategy 1 for a hand and suddenly a small bit of information as the play proceeds might call in an alarm for the player to vary his approach altogether to a totally different strategy.
Switching from strategy 1 to strategy 2 might not be difficult, but switching from strategy 1 while it has been half executed to switching off to the second half of some other strategy in a half play requires a lot of skill and presence of mind.
Though it has been a matter of argument that strategies are applicable to all levels of players, in reality experience plays a major role in letting the player in being able to execute the strategy in a skillful way. It is for this reason that the skill levels of players has been classified to beginner, intermediate and advanced. The strategies that are written in articles and poker tutorials is also written as beginner player strategy, intermediate player strategy and advanced player strategy.
Truly, all strategies can be applied and executed by all levels of players, but the end result of the strategies might not be the same. An advanced player strategy can very well be used by a beginner player, but the trouble might be because the beginner player might not be able to execute the strategy without making some information leakage. Advanced strategies can be filled with bluffs and tricks which a beginner might not be able to execute without being caught most of the time. Exceptions do exist too!
